“PBBA is an outstanding example of how a well run community boxing club can have a positive impact on the area it serves. I have visited the club on several occasions as a representative of England Boxing and witnessed first hand the outstanding work being undertaken on a daily basis with residents of the City of Birmingham whom are most in need of the clubs assistance. It is a delight to watch how in tune the staff at PBBA are to the needs of the people who come into their facility and they show remarkable empathy and understanding of the variety of issues that each individual is facing. Its even more incredible when you realist that many of the staff delivering programmes such as Mind-Fit the mental health activity project, or the diversionary knife crime programmes, were actually nurtured from within the club itself via its innovative apprenticeship programme and have also worn the PBBA vest in championships and competitions across the country and the wider UK. Aside from the community work the boxing club also boasts a proud heritage having produced numerous ABA champions including Mark and Paul Ramsey as well as Matthew Macklin. We at England Boxing are very proud to have such a positive and vibrant organisation as part of our membership and we look forward to continuing working closely with the club to ensure that it will keep on making such a positive impact for years to come."
